And it Happened, Kanye Proposed

And it must be in the air, first LC and now another reality star is engaged, Kimye is official. Kanye West surprised his baby-momma on her birthday by renting out the AT&T Park stadium in San Fran, collecting all her friends and family, along with a 50-piece orchestra to propose to his infamous flame with a supposed 15 carat diamond. And to think, all it took was an instagramed booty shot.

You can search for the booty pic yourself.... Kidding! Gratuitous bum pic below,

And that's all it takes ladies, good thing I started my 30-Day squat challenge yesterday!

Where Burlesque, Twerking and Beethoven Meet

Whenever I'm trying to work on my flexibility practicing my splits and a song I really enjoy starts over the headphones, I find it almost physically impossible not to flex and shake my ass, even in that position as silly as I feel, the music and the urge to twerk take over (it should noted, I could never actually see myself twerking in club, only in the comforts of my home or gym). It turns out, I am not alone! A year and a half ago, Chicago-based, Illinois-born burlesque performer Michelle L'Amour had an idea, place a bowtie on her ass, take a seat and twerk her assets to Beethoven's "Fifth Symphony," and now her efforts and vision have gone viral! It's mesmerizing, and really helps me feel a bit better about my excessive posterior jiggle, I never realized I was creating a potential classical masterpiece!

And for those of you who want to practice at home, L'Amour's "sheet music" is available below...

Looks like I'm going to have to work on my "Tutti Booti."

Lauren Conrad's Engaged

It's been a long time since I've written about Lauren Conrad, especially after both The Hills and The City ended, but the designer and author would still cross my mind on occasion, especially since I only recently finished the third installment of her LA Candy Trilogy this August in Miami.

But our sweet little Hills-alum has gotten engaged, to a man I didn't even know existed, let alone that she was dating, William Tell. According to Wikipedia he is the "former rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist for the Piano rock band Something Corporate," which means absolutely nothing to me, I'm just interested to see the dress, and they look incredibly cute.

Rihanna - Pour it Up (video & audition)

I know I'm a little late on this, but I just got Rihanna's new video today, and with lyrics like "Strippers going up and down that pole" you'd expect some form of booty-popping... I just didn't expect it to be done by Rihanna. As pole-enthusiast I appreciate that the "strippers" used were actual pole-dancers and competitors with real skill and talent in the sport in lieu of just a regular half-naked girl twerking around the brass, I found Rihanna's dance moves oddly disappointing. They weren't risque, which is normally expected of Ri-Ri and instead just raunchy. Am I alone in this or am I just getting old?

On a dope note, check out the audition tapes for one of the videos pole superstars,

Second City has done it again at the Canadian Comedy Awards.

Last night the Canadian Comedy Awards, one of the most coveted comedy awards in Canada, were handed out in our nations capital.

I had the opportunity to sign up online and vote on a few categories, I was limited however as I am not a part of the industry nor did I pay a fee for a membership.  I am happy to say that I voted for Space Janitors and they did come away with Internet / Best Web Series.  Certain my vote was appreciated, all it takes is one…

The best breakout artist this year was none other than my favourite lady comedian Stacey McGunnigle. I am so happy and excited for her.  Looking forward to checking her out soon on her current run of We can be Heroes at Second City.

Speaking of Second City, Stacey isn’t the only current cast member that won last night. Jan Caruana won for Best Female Improvisor and Second City Alum Jason DeRosse won Best Male Improvisor.  Award well deserved for both parties. Live Long and Pro$per (Ashley Comeau, Jason DeRosse, Nigel Downer, Alastair Forbes, Inessa Frantowski and Carly Heffernan) did not clinch the award for Best Sketch Troupe this year, but maybe Meme-ing of Life will have the opportunity in 2014?!

Now Jason DeRosse didn’t just win once, he was able to come away with another award, Best Improv Troupe with MANTOWN.  These gentlemen Bob Banks, Adam Cawley, Jason Derosse  and Rob Norman create pure improv magic together and I am certain they are extremely proud of this award!

From all the tweets and all the photos put up from last night looks like everyone enjoyed themselves.  Here’s to another great year of comedy!

Submissions for next year will open in January 2014.

Paris Hilton - Good Time ft. Lil Wayne (video)

Yea... this happened, and I feel partially responsible.

Not too long ago I was looking through old files on my computer and a couple photos (maybe a couple tracks) reminded me of when Paris Hilton had a "music career," to which I chuckled thinking, "whatever happened to that? Ha!" Well now the humble heiress has ditched Scott Storch prodoction for Afrojack on her new Lil Wayne assisted track, and we have the Hanna Lux Davis-directed visuals to prove it. I'm sorry.

For some reason the embed code is not working for me, so if you're so brave, check out the video on Rolling Stone.

Nuit Blanche 2013 (Toronto)

And October has begun and to kick off the month of spooks, changing leaves, costumes, and a drop in temperature is Scotiabank's Nuit Blanche Toronto, this Saturday October 5th. Our normally busy streets will be bustling with a million people roaming the streets with the intention to take in as much art as possible; there are 112 exhibits created by 500 local, nation and international artists throughout the city. Of course AGO's feature artist Ai Weiwei has contributed to the event with his sculpture of over 1,000 bikes, Forever Bicycles, located at Nathan Philips Square.

The majority of the events and exhibitions can be found within the down town core, spanning from Front to Bloor, although my favourite exhibits are those random freestanding pieces that are littered down Queen West and Trinity Bellwoods, which is probably where I'll be spending the bulk of my time, bottle of wine in tow.

The official kick off is at 6:51pm and will go on until the wee hours of Sunday morning. For more information visit http://www.scotiabanknuitblanche.ca/, and take advantage of their Night Planner, and don't forget to check in on Twitter so your friends meeting up with you halfway through the night, know where to go!

Drake Joins the Toronto Raptors / Toronto Hosts 2016 NBA All-Stars

Today was a momentous day in Toronto Basketball history, first our homegrown hip hop All-Star in his own right, Drake, has agreed to become the “global ambassador” for the Toronto Raptors. Not only will the club be using his star-power to encourage sales and their re-branding efforts, Wheelchair Jimmy will also influence the Raptors new look, potentially including new team colours, jerseys and logo, which the ever-ambitious lyricist has already offered design suggestions.

Secondly, it was confirmed today that Toronto will be hosting the 2016 NBA All-Star game, the first time the event will be held outside of the USA. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't already devising a savings plan to attend the event. It should also be noted that 2016 is the 20-year anniversary of the Toronto Raptors as an official NBA ball club, coincidence? I think not.

Who knows, maybe after this gig, Drake will try his hand at become a sports agent... Hova!
