Teen Choice Awards: Pretty Little Liars

One of the most colourful, laid back awards event with the most squealing, screaming and genuine gratitude occurred this past week, the Teen Choice awards, where all our teenie-boppers favourite singers, actors and personalities come to revel in their youthful success. Among them, of course was my guilty pleasure, the cast of Pretty Little Liars.

Let's start with the "main character" of the show, who all the fuss is about, yet we rarely see, which is a shame, since Sasha Pieterse is quite a lovely young girl, and looked as effortlessly put together as Ali would, in a Carolina Herrera black and grey polka-dot strapless cocktail dress from the designers Resort 2013 collection, and coveted Casadei triple stacked platforms. Not exactly the look I'd expect to see on a 16 year old girl, and yet she makes it work!

Lucy Hale knew how to dress for the event in a bright red Wes Gordon Spring 2012 halter dress. The colour, the cut-outs, the length, the side swept pony and the the Brian Atwood platforms were the perfect choice for this playground inspired event.

Speaking of playgrounds, while there's something about Troian Bellisario's ballerina-inspired pale pink Maria Lucia Hohan mini that I really like, it also reminds me of a dress a 6 year old would wear to a birthday party or for family photos.

Shay Mitchell is lovely, and Canadian, so naturally I want to sing her praises, unfortunately that would make me unforgivably biased and a liar. The colour is great on her, however, and her hair is really pretty. Look at that! Praise! I did it!

Another PLL fail, is the adorable Ashley Benson. Considering she plays the character "who used to be fat," you'd think the actress would be more aware of how to dress her proportions. Her black floral lace Monique Lhuillier bustier and high-waisted Balenciaga pants are taking away fullness where it should be and adding volume where there isn't any.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
