Miles Jones – Catch Me In The Rye Live (Video)

Toronto emcee and jazz genius offspring, Miles Jones performs his Holden Caulfield-inspired track "Catch Me in The Rye," captured by Hundred Faces Group.

Rumour has it that Mr. Jones has been in contact with one one the coolest T-dot songstress' I've ever met. I look forward to that collabo!

T.I. - Love this Life (video)

T.I.P.'s back with the visuals for his first single, "Love this Life" off his 8th album Trouble Man, which is set to release September 4, 2012. As it stands I need something else, something more to create any anticipation for this EP.

Live in the City: Kristin Chenoweth (Toronto)

Besides my love of musicals, all things Broadway, and tiny woman with powerful vocals, my love of Kristin Chenoweth is also attributed to her high-pitched speaking voice, contagious laugh and sublime sense of humour, ever since I was first introduced to her on the Rosie O'Donnell show.

Kristin Chenoweth presently stars in one of my favourite guilty pleasures (GCB), and her version of Wicked was my dream performance to experience, and now she's in my hometown to promote her latest album Some Lessons Learn. Catch the 4-foot 11-inch firecracker June 12 at Massey Hall.

Coldplay - Princess of China ft. Rihanna (video)

I have no idea how this slipped past me last week or my Coldplay-obsessed girlfriend, at least I can blame my depression on why I've been so distracted the past couple of weeks, but she has no excuse! I digress, Coldplay released the visuals to their track "Princess of China" featuring a rather dark-haired, dark-lipped Rihanna (is that her attempt to look more Chinese?), off their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto.

Now that wasn't a tad bit excessive in the Chinese stereotypes, was it? It just can not compete with fellow Brit, David Bowie's "China Girl," but then I must admit I'm Bowie-biased, Goblin King love affair.

NXNE June 11-17 (Toronto)

The schedule and line-up for this year's North by North East festival has finally been announced and while I'm pretty stoked (yea sometimes I invoke the spirit of a surfer dude) to catch some of my favourite musical artists and discover some new ones, I think I am most excited for all the free shows happening at Dundas Square! The headliners performing next Thursday to Sunday, consist of Bad Religion, Matthew Good, The Flaming Lips (what?!?! Did I just turn 13 again? Yes!), Raekwon and Ghostface Killah. There is only one night I do not plan to attend, unless I'm begged appropriately, but in reality even if you may not be the biggest fan of any of the above, how can you say no to a free show filled?

For the full schedule and details on wristbands visit the NXNE website.
