Jay-Z & Kanye West - No Church in the Wild (video)

The Watch the Throne track featuring crooner Frank Ocean gets the visual treatment with direction from Romain Gavras, best known for M.I.A.'s "Born Free" and "Bad Girls." This is the third video from the collab-album, but "No Church in the Wild" is first that does not feature any of the voices heard on the track and instead focuses on the gritty image of a street riot. Kendrick Lamar – War Is My Love

Kendrick Lamar has joined Minnesota Timberwolves Kevin Love, NFL rookie Justin Blackmon, and Coco (yes, Ice-T's wife) as the final member of "Team Ghost" in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier video game which released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 last week. Kendrick recorded the track “War Is My Love” and stated he tried to put himself “in the shoes of the Ghosts from the video game and capture that feeling of being willing to wage war and do whatever it takes to claim victory.” In the game Kendrick and the other "Ghosts" are a team of highly trained, special ops soldiers on a quest to achieve their mission at any cost. Jay-Z’s “Made In America” Festival

Earlier this week Jay-Z had revealed the line up to his Budweiser "Made in America" music festival, and today the tickets go on sale for the Philly event happening at Fairmount Park September 1st and 2nd.

Jay-Z will be headlining the event (duh), along with legendary politically-charged grunge band, Pearl Jam. Also performing is the soulful D’Angelo, Janelle Monáe, Santigold, Miike Snow, Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Rick Ross, Wale, Odd Future, Meek Mill, Afrojack, Wale, indie rockers The Knocks, X, Prince Royce, Rita Ora, and Savoy will perform.

As a music-fest it's impressively well rounded, and there are definitely a few listed that I would love to see, and some I would love to see again, but the chance to see Eddie Vedder climbing through the stages rafters may well be worth crossing the border.

Met Ball: Favourites

And my girl crush kills it as per usual! Camilla Belle looked smokin' in this ivory tulle beaded Ralph Lauren dress with sheer panel at the bust. She topped the dress off perfectly with the lip colour au moment and a high bun. Flawless.

Another ingenue I have an inexplicable attraction towards, Lily Collins looked like a Snow White vision in an ivory silk tulle and lace Valentino gown. Clearly I have a thing for strong brows... and yet I'm not a Brooke Shields fan, things that make you go "hmmm."

Speaking of Snow White, Rooney Mara played up her alabaster skin in a black lace Givenchy gown with sheer skirt, red lips and a tight black bun. She's managed to take a possibly trashy look and keep elegant and edgy simultaneously.

"Video Games" singer, Lana Del Rey keeps my fairy tale theme going by donning a black cape over her custom-made black and silver Joseph Altuzarra gown, and upped the drama with a chocolate lip.

And if the other ladies were fairy tale victims heroines then Rihanna makes the perfect villainess in a skin tight, Tom Ford embossed crocodile leather applique dress. Although I'm pretty sure even Captain Hook would approve of this look.

Joining Santi in promoting her sophomore album, Master of My Make-Believe is eclectic Brooklyn rapper Theophilus London. Expect the two of them to bring their own unique sound and energy to the stage, and expect me to be dancing my ass off!

Met Gala Ball: Prada

It's the most wonderful time of the year! It's not exactly Christmas, but there are numerous gifts abound, fashion gifts that is. My favourite time of the year, is the most fashionably forward time, the Met Ball, aka the fashion industry's "Oscar's." Where you see a handful of pretty dresses, a slew of wacky ensembles and industry insiders and celebrities alike remind us that fashion is art. It's the theme and fashion interpretation and the risk-taking that I love best about this night, and it happened Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute's in NYC. This year's theme honours legendary designers Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, with the Met's new exhibition, "Impossible Conversations." I've never been much of a Prada fan, I just never understood the cult following the line received, but I was certainly interested to see who may wear some vintage Schiaparelli, which the line is celebrating a re-launch.

Vogue's EIC Anna Wintour was the evening's hostess and the only person to don an Elsa Schiareparelli-inspired dress, designed by Prada featuring a magnificent lobster detailing. It mixes both quirky and glamorous.

Last year's host, Met Gala chairwoman and newlywed Carey Mulligan wore a silver and gold pailette-covered Prada halter dress, which shines and dazzles from every angle. Looks like I may be taking a turn to Prada fan?

Another Prada wearing celebrity, was fashion favourite, Diane Kruger who looks phenomenally effortless in this ostrich feather-trimmed, crepe silk chiffon, royal purple v-neck spaghetti strapped gown. We are on a Prada-loving roll!

The Prada and ostrich feather love continued with Kate Bosworth in this flirty ombre mini, granted her spray tan and two-tone skin is a bit distracting, but that's not Prada's fault. I also love the matching dark lip and her bun doesn't compete with the dress... which probably ended up a sun-loving orange by the end of the night, seriously she looks as if she bathed in carrots! Moving on..

Jessica Biel arrived with her fiance Justin Timberlake in a satin, ill-hemmed Prada gown. Besides the hem and the length I like the dress, and the emerald jewel detailing, yet another win in the Prada department.

And then this happened. Gwyneth Paltrow showed off an excessive amount of skin, baring both her legs (which granted are incredible) back and sideboob in what is essentially a satin Prada apron. Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not prudish when it comes to showing off a little skin, and I'm a big fan of a little side-boob, but pick one body part, maybe two, three max! Also this dress resembles an unfinished Project Runway entry. Not something you'd expect from a designer who's being honoured at such an event.

Here's the Prada I know and loathe; structured satin with hideous and often confusing detailing. I'd like to thank Eva Mendes for reminding me why I've never claimed to be a Prada enthusiast. In case I ever get questioned again (and I will), I can direct my inquisitors to this photo.

Andre 3000 to Play Jimi Hendrix

A Jimi Hendrix biopic, All is By My Side has finally been given a green-light and is starring Andre 3000. 3 Stacks has been rumoured to be portraying the guitar genius since 2004 which the Hughes Brothers were supposed direct, and then all rumours of the project had fizzled. Fans of both musical innovators can now rejoice since the now John Ridley-directed project will begin filming this June (my birthday month) in Ireland (my "motherland," I'm just trying to make the point that this indicates greatness).

The film will cover the period that Hendrix was discovered at the Cheetah Club in NYC by Rolling Stone's Keith Richards former girlfriend, who introduced Jimi to his manager (and The Animals bass guitarist) Chas Chandler in 1966 and follows him until the release of his debut album Are You Experienced in 1967. I'm certainly excited to see both the story and what elements 3-Stacks brings to memory of the icon. I'll think of it as some kind of birthday gift, (yes, somehow I always manage to bring it back to me).

Fitness Friday: Jukari Fit to Fly

After having been working out since I was 11 years old to re-runs of the 20-Minute Workout, I'm consistently looking for something new, fun, fresh, challenging... anything to keep from getting bored and prevent my muscles becoming too accustomed. That includes fitness books, DVDs, dance classes, pole classes, boot camp, and my most recent venture took me to King West Fitness in Liberty Village where I tried Jukari Fit to Fly. The program was developed by Reebok and Cirque du Soleil and as you may suspect incorporates trapeze bars hanging from the gyms ceiling. Don't let that scare you though, you won't find yourself hanging upside down without a net, at least not in the first class!

The program combines aerobics, strength moves and light acrobatics which focus mostly on upper body strength and the core, and of course there's the element of fun that makes this workout feel more like you're playing in the playground then ripping your bicep muscles. It feels like a childhood dream may shortly become a reality... any day now I'll be running around to join the circus!

Watch the (relatively cheesy) video above and visit King West Fitness for more information.

Chief Keef – I Don’t Like (rmx) f. Kanye West, Pusha T, Jadakiss & Big Sean

This track dropped yesterday and 5 seconds later its all I was hearing about! Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to listen to it until late last night thanks to boot camp and "talks," but... I like. Kanye West remixed the fellow Chi-Town rapper's, Young Chop-produced track, featuring Yeezy, Big Sean, Pusha T and Jadakiss, but he kept the final product private even from the 16-year old artist... just another thing to add to Chief Keef's list of things he "don't like."
